Thoughts from the Road

Spending the day in Columbia, Mo, a night after performing in the town square of Kirksville, Mo.  A great show in Kirksville as usual.  VERY special water there, I mean, everyone seems to have a great artistic mind.  Thanks to all of the great students in Kirksville who made it out to the show.  We can’t wait to return. The butternut squash grow-over-eth in Kirksville; like blackberries along the highway in Oregon, or like algae in the still lakes of Minnesota.

Just spending time in old haunts: the Lakota Coffee Co, Shakespeare’s Pizza, and the great lawns of MSU until we set up and sound check for our early show at Mojo’s.

Rogue Valley makes for MTV Jersey Shore Music

Posted on | August 27, 2010 | No Comments

I heard through the sonic grapevine that “snooki cried her eyes out” to The Warming Moon from the springtime Crater Lake album tonight on MTV’s Jeresy Shore. I know it’s a reality show, so I apologize to Snooki.. I hope that things turn around for you. Seriously, it must be weird to have all these cameras on you while something real is going down. So yeah.. if you like Jersey Shore, then you will like Rogue Valley.. that’s what I’m taking away from all of this.

The Bookseller’s House geocaches! Photos, clues and coordinates!

Posted on | August 4, 2010 | 2 Comments

ALERT (8/05): Geocache #1 fell prey to some mp3 player thieves…we’ll have a new mp3 player in place by Sunday. The cache is still there so please go searching for it and sign the logbook! It’s still an adventure if you can find the cache!

Hi friends,

The geocaches are out there and alive in Minneapolis! Find all four and preview the entire summer record! That’s right, collect ‘em all…but what we really mean to say is just find ‘em, love ‘em, listen to ‘em, sign the logbooks and leave ‘em be!

For those of you who are avid and experienced geocachers with shiny, hand held GPS devices and Groundspeak’s iphone app at the ready we are working on getting these caches published on geocaching.com. There are so many hidden caches in Minneapolis that it’s been difficult placing these caches accessibly in spots that are not within 582 feet of another cache. The glut of caches in our fair city is an amazing discovery but it has slowed spreading the word about our caches to the masses.

Until everything is technically savvy as possible we’ve devised a scavenger hunt style adventure to help you find the caches too.

Tell people about the photos, clues and coordinates!

More soon…

And…Go! Try it. It’s helpful.

Please visit the Facebook Event page as well!
